Customer was one of biggest OEMs producing agricultures machinery in India. It had its production plants across PAN India, USA and Europe. In India, it was producing different models of harvesters from different locations. Maintaining huge inventory at different location, fully utilizing facilities, logistics, common production processes etc were the challenges and hence, it wanted to create a single big facility for the production of all its harvester models and few other agriculture products on single assembly line.
Our design team was deputed onsite at our customer’s design center where both the teams worked collaboratively. Challenge was to accommodate different parts or assemblies of all the harvester models on a single line. Managing inventory was a huge task. We executed this project in 07 months where in we design whole layout for sub-assembly and main assembly line, common fixtures for different models, Trolleys, Racks & Bins distribution, Inventory planning, assembly process sheets etc.
We delivered all above mentioned details for smoother operations in the plant.
We supported our customer for the process validation during the roll out of first 20 harvesters.
Plant is functioning fully with targeted efficiency.
